Orthodontic care for the entire family.

Did you know that the American Association of Orthodontists recommends children have an orthodontic exam by age 7? This is because some children may benefit from early interceptive orthodontic treatment, also known as Phase I treatment. With Phase I treatment, Dr. Jamie Signorino can correct trouble spots in a child’s baby teeth before they become even bigger problems later on, such as crowding, malalignment and protruding teeth. Many Phase I treatment patients will later need Phase II treatment for further correction but will have the advantage of an early start to make difficult cases more manageable. Phase II treatment is reserved for teenagers and adults. The goal of Phase II treatment is to achieve optimal alignment and bite of all permanent teeth.

At La Jolla Orthodontics, whether you want traditional braces, clear braces or Invisalign® “invisible” aligners, Dr. Signorino has them all. There is no “upgrade” charge should you want a particular type of bracket... As long as it is appropriate for your treatment, it’s yours! We offer a variety of orthodontic solutions for your particular needs, such as:

• SmartClip™ Self-Ligating Brackets – These amazing nickel-titanium brackets speed up the orthodontic process while reducing the number of visits to our office. With regular braces, the brackets on each tooth are wrapped in elastics to hold the wires to the teeth. With computer-designed SmartClip brackets, the wire is held in place by a clip, so elastics aren’t necessary! This helps reduce friction between the wire and bracket and allows for more effective movement and comfort for you. SmartClip also makes it easier to clean your teeth with braces.
  
• Clarity™ Ceramic Brackets – Imagine the benefits of braces in an esthetically pleasing ceramic material. Clarity ceramic braces are barely visible and won’t stain no matter how much grape juice or coffee you drink! They also provide comfortable wear and translucency that complements your smile.
  
• Invisalign® – This is the clear choice for older teens and adults who want a straighter smile without brackets or wires! Using a series of crystal-clear aligners, you can gently and comfortably straighten your smile without anyone guessing “you’ve got braces.”
  
• Retainers for Life – Because your teeth are always moving, Dr. Signorino is an advocate of wearing your retainer for as long as possible. And every patient receives two sets of retainers at the completion of treatment – a clear retainer that doubles as a bleaching tray for teeth whitening and a traditional wire retainer.
  
• Digital X-Rays – Dr. Signorino never compromises your safety... We use digital X-rays for all of our patients that use up to 75 percent less radiation than traditional X-rays. They are also instantly available to view with Dr. Signorino on a computer monitor, helping you better understand your care.
